Robots are not new inside the industrial world but the scale is unseen. A Chinese delivery firm is moving to embrace automation to the extend. Orange robots at the company's sorting stations are able to identify the destination of a package through a code-scan, virtually eliminating sorting mistakes. The army of robots can sort up to 200,000 packages a day, and are self-charging, meaning they are operational 24/7.

The company estimates its robotic sorting system is saving around 70-percent of the costs a human-based sorting line would require.

u-blox is a Swiss company that creates wireless semiconductors and modules for consumer, automotive and industrial markets. It just announced it has released the world’s smallest quad-band LTE Cat M1 module, the u-blox SARA‑R410M.

This will enable remote devices to connect directly to 4G networks, it will faste the rollout of Internet of Things (IoT) and machine-to-machine (M2M) applications, from smart metering to connected healthcare, and from industrial control and monitoring to smart buildings and cities. Manufacturers can deliver future firmware updates over-the-air.

With IoT and M2M devices required to operate for long periods of time on a small battery, the u-blox  includes power‑save mode (PSM) and extended discontinuous reception (eDRX) that together deliver battery life of up to 10 years. The module also boasts extended range, meaning it can operate within buildings or even basements.

OBJECTSconnected.com @  CeBIT 2017

Like every year CeBIT takes place in Hannover(Germany), this year from 20 to 24 March 2017. In recent years CeBIT has evolved into a more professional B2B exhibition, perfectly suited to take a look which major developments will rock the corporate/industrial sector in 2017.

We are at CeBIT to take a look on recent developments and explain our value for cities, industry, utilities and corporates at large. In the next quarter we will come to the market with new business models for our customers.

Internet of Things

The way we deal with “dumb” devices will change for good. This year manufacturers are looking into the possibilities to use 5G for machine to machine communication. 5G is a telecom standard enabling M2M , is ultra reliable and leverage massive machine communication possibilities. Ideal for the Internet of Things.

However, we see that not everyone wants to wait for the rollout of 5G. Like our 'Connected' platform today it already snatch data using existing standards and integrates corporate wide. Our consumer-friendly solutions notifies when maintenance is a good idea. The same trend in now embraced inside the industry at large.
